Are rope toys for dogs safe?

Being a dog mom or dad can be scary! It can be confusing to determine whether or not a type of dog toy is safe or not. If you're worried about rope toys, be sure to read the following.

Rope toys are safe for dogs WHEN they are supervised. Rope toys are perfect for playing fetch or tug-of-war. Dogs love to interact with their owners and these toys make great playtime accessories. If you're keeping an eye on your tug, they're completely safe.

Rope toys are NOT safe for dogs when they are unsupervised (especially if they are chewers). Many dogs love to chew up, pick at, or rip apart their toys. Rope toys are especially fun for your pup since they are made up of tons of strands they can pick and pull at. Those little strands are unsafe when swallower, however, so you want to keep an eye on your pup as they can preven a choking hazard or worse. Lu's Labs notes that "Even small pieces of rope overtime can accumulate like hairs in a shower drain causing a blockage." Find out more here.

My Pitty Princess goes through chew toys quicker than I can buy them.. I think I will try this and see if I can make them any tougher so she cant go through them as quick! If nothing else I think I will have a giggle trying to make them for her)

I've always loved making these types of dog toys. Homemade dog toy projects are totally fun to make, and I especially love the fact that you can personalize the sturdiness of different toys for different size dogs. Paracord ring dog toys are especially fun to make because paracord is usually durable, easy to use, and loads of fun to work with!

This is surprisingly hardy, which is exactly what we need. (We had to forget about the tennis balls since our pup likes to chew the fiber off. Yay for neon poop!)
