From the blogger: "Water features can add so much to your patio or backyard. Knowing how to properly maintain and care for them can keep them working and in good shape throughout the year. If you care for them from the start, it's not too hard. Keeping the water feature clean is a HUGE part of the process. Soap and water can help quite a bit but sometimes, you just need to do take it a step farther to really get the piece clean."

I am looking into maybe getting a fountain this year and I was wondering how to care for it and the way to maintain it and this was some good information on how todo it. I was thinking of a large fountain but may start with a small one to see how that goes first.I use to have a pond with fish on my patio until a owl killed my fish and put a hole in my liner. I miss the sound of the water and my fish so maybe a fountain will be the way to go. Thanks for information.

Don't use soap where animals drink bathe. Just scrub rinse.
