I have made homemade laundry detergent before, and it worked out really well! Does anyone know if this actually works? What if you leave out the lemon essential oil? Everything else you can buy at a local store, but I don't want to have to buy the essential oils. We are always looking for ways to save money in our household, especially with 2 almost teenage boys eating everything!

No way...I know of homemade cleaning products but I never in a million years would of thought you could go and make your own dish washer tablets, if they work this could save the household a small fortune!!! I am actually gob smacked to see this, has anyone tried them? Do they work?

Dear Devon, I am from Slovenia, living on a low budget regardless of the fact that my husband and I are having our own private company I find your idea fantastic, but am having problems with ingredients, because they are not common here and can not be easily bought. OK I'll buy them on Internet and will hope that the end product will still be cheaper than industrial ones. But can you help me out with Kosher Salt? Do you think that I can use a local product instead? If yes, please advice what I should pay attention on.

What a great idea! We are preparing for retirement and are looking for ways to save money because we will be on a retirement budget soon. Store products are getting so expensive and even though we coupon we like to make as many supplies as we can. Easy ingredients to find. I am giving this one a try!
