What a fun and neat way to customize a shelving unit for your needs, style, and space. I love how versatile this project is so you can make it fit your needs. I can see making one of these to put on the wall in the kids room for stuffed animals, hats, small books, and other items.

I think this is a great way to create your own style and size of shelving. You could even make your own crates from pallet wood to keep the cost down. If that is not an option, I have seen these types of crates offered for sale at craft stores and home improvement stores. I do like the way the crates are painted. I also like the idea of decoupaging some vintage-style floral papers on to the crates for a fantastic vintage look. How would you finish your crates for a custom look for your home?

I am in need of bookshelves! I love how simple these are and how rustic they look. I'm officially on the hunt for pallet crates.
