If your home was decorated between the '50s and '80s, there is a good chance you have popcorn ceilings. A popcorn ceiling, also known as a stucco ceiling, has a lot of texture, making it difficult to paint. Not to mention that these ceilings are not the most visually appealing. Learn how to remove popcorn ceiling textures with this tutorial. Once you remove the textured paint, your ceiling can be easily prepped and repainted as you'd like. Doing so will give your room a much more modern and pleasant look.

Oh yes taking down popcorn ceiling is a mess but the finished look is so much better and this is the best way to do it. Use a drop cloth on the floor to make that clean up a little easier by just rolling it up and discarding it. We had ours done when our roof leaked from storm damage they did the living room and dining room but I want to do all the other rooms. Anyone do it a different way?
