While decorating your mantel, front door and Christmas tree is very important for the holidays, you can't forget to give some Christmas spirit to the outdoors! Spread some holiday cheer by hanging this DIY Outdoor Holiday Garland outside. After you spray paint little Styrofoam circles, fish them through some wire and your garland is ready to hang outdoors. This DIY garland will look darling hanging on the side of your home to add a little pop of color. This Christmas craft is so easy and very inexpensive to make to top it all off.

Learn how to create a large-scale outdoor holiday garland using inexpensive foam disks and spheres. Give them a spray with holiday themed paint, and string them together with fishing wire. Materials List

  • Foam disks and spheres
  • Spray paint in holiday colors
  • Fishing wire
  • Skewers
  • Tape

DIY Project Instructions

  1. Skewer the foam spheres and cover with spray paint.

  2. Cover the foam disks with spray paint.

  3. Once dry, tape the end of the fishing wire to the skewer and insert through the foam shape.

  4. String the foam together in the pattern you like best until you reach the desired length.

  5. Tie knots in the fishing wire to secure the two ends.
