DIY Garden Shed Instructions

Create the perfect garden shed for your backyard! You'll be able to fit the larger things you need to garden in this storage unit as well as the little things. This DIY shed is super self explanatory and you don't need to hire a handyman to build it!

1. Supplies
       -2 or more pallets
       -10 2x4s
       -Metal roofing material
       -Nail gun
       -Nails
       -Circular saw
       -Tape Measure

2. Frame the walls
Begin by cutting the 2x4s to length (will vary depending on how large you want your shed to be). Place posts at the corner of each side of the garden shed. Then, cut the other 2x4s to length and lay them across the top to connect each corner post. Add some bracing posts that run diagonally from corner post to corner post to ensure extra stability.

3. Frame the roof
First, build a square the size of the garden shed along the top of the structure (you’ll need to cut the 2x4s to length). Next, cut more 2x4s to length when adding slats within the roof frame for support.

4. Roofing material
Cut your metal roofing material (metal is recommended because it’s inexpensive and sturdy) down to size and overlap the sheets of metal. Attach them to the roof using a nail gun.

5. Cover outside walls
Cut the slabs down to length for each side of the shed then use a nail gun to put them up (you can use old siding or wood if you don’t have slabs).

6. Move your stuff in
After creating this extremely simple tool shed, it's time to move your gardening tools in. While this specifc shed doesn't have a door, you can add one if you wish. Dress your storage unit up with hanging flower pots and fancy hooks. Enjoy!

We leave our garden tools in a corner on the floor of the garage! We should probably give one of these wall storage racks a try. :)

find your DIY ideas brilliant something for everyone I particularylike your storage and garden ideas

I store my gardening tools based on how frequently they are used. The items that get used almost weekly are in the front, while the seasonal items are placed in the back. I also hang my smaller tools so they don't get lost (or stepped on!).
