Love the idea of using and up cycling old wood for this planter. I am wondering if you could,use strong jute rope or even very strong fishing line to hang it instead of the chains? Another more short term idea would be to use waxed old milk or juice cartons and arrange them in a herringbone pattern. That would be workable for a school project! Super idea! Thank you for sharing it!

I love the look of this and it seems really simple to make! This is such a unique way to add some plant decor to your space.
