This is a unique planter. I love that crafters can come up with a way to use an item that would have been tossed out for lack of need. My librarian friend on the other hand may not like this idea. (lol)

My first thought when I saw this project is how to keep the book dry. After reading over the direction, the designer provided that information. I like this idea perhaps as a gift of a librarian. Something to set on the desk. However, the librarian I know would call me a book beater for doing this.

Such a fun and unique idea and really inexpensive to make too. We have a friend with a birthday coming up and who I simply HAVE to make one of these for! She adores books more than mostly anything else on this planet, except perhaps Shnookes the cat, and is going to totally love this.

This is such a quirky idea, it is great!! I think anyone who would come in and see this would have to comment about how cool it is! I think I will make some of these for my guest bedroom! I just have to try figure out what to plant into them now! Any ideas?

So many times I have seen books at garage sales and their pages have seen better days, so this project is super to repurpose them. I might spray paint the book page edges but the rustic look would be cool too! I have lots of plastic containers that could easily be cut to fit the space inside the book. Add a new title on the spine of the book if appropriate, how about The Cactus Lives Here, or The Succelent Series? )

My daughter would love it if I made her a gift like this planter. She is such a book worm like I was when I was her age. I would put these all over my room if I could have when I was that age. Thanks for the unique and fun idea.

What a cute design!!! My daughter loves both the main players here-succulents and books. I already have both sitting around here just waiting for this craft. I think I'm going to see if I can come up with some other thick plastic to use so I don't have to spend money on this one. Won't she be ecstatic when she receives my version for her birthday!
