I love this! I have an ugly straight back chair with a nice design but ugly upholstery, and I've been wanting to re-do it. Great guidance!

Great idea and instructions! I recovered 6 dining room chair seats and also 4 bar stools! For the bar stools I actually used large cotton napkins and sewed them together making sides and then ironed on vinyl sheeting to keep them waterproof. For the chairs I made self cording! Came out great! Thanks for sharing !

I need to reupholster my kitchen chairs, so finding this couldnt have come at a better time. I have done this before, but it was many years ago. A refresher is always nice. I already have my vinyl and my tools. Now I just need to find my motivation and I will be all set!

Our dining chairs have been needing recovering for over 2 years now. I thought it would be very difficult to recover ourselves and its costly to pay someone else to do it so we have just lived with them as they are and tried not to look at them. Now that I see how simple it is and that you dont have to be a carpenter or an upholsterer to do it yourself I will be going to buy the fabric as soon as the store opens on Monday morning!
