More Favorite Oktoberfest Foods

Need more ideas for your Oktoberfest feast? Check out some of these other traditional foods. They are great with beer, of course, but we'd also pair them with some delicious non-alcoholic beverages like apple cider! Let us know which of these foods are your favorite.

  1. Roast Chicken - It's hard to go wrong with this classic dish. It is sure to warm you up when the weather gets chilly, and it is delicious with a frosty mug of beer.

  2. Sausages - Classic Bavarian sausages are delicious when served with plenty of mustard and sauerkraut.

  3. Schnitzel - This dish is definitely on our list of favorite things. If you're not familiar with schnitzel, it is a filet of pork or chicken that is pounded very thin, breaded, and then fried. It's crispy, rich, and totally satisfying.

  4. German Red Cabbage - This is a cooked red cabbage dish that's a little sweet, a little spicy, and completely delicious. It's the perfect side dish for your Oktoberfest dinner.

  5. German Potato Salad - If you're eating your potato salad cold, then you're not doing it "wrong"... but  you should try it warm! Classic German Potato Salad skips the mayo and instead uses cider vinegar, bacon, and parsley for a scrumptious side dish.

  6. Apple Strudel - Don't skip dessert! This classic German dessert is famous for a reason. Flaky, sweet, and bursting with spiced apple flavor, this is one sweet treat that you don't want to miss.

I love the pretzels in the mall but they are so expensive. At any rate, I treat myself when I do go to the mall. Now I can have them at home also whenever I want.

Oh man, these look incredible. I can't ever get enough of soft pretzels.

When I go to the mall I always treat myself to a soft pretzel. With this easy recipe, I can make them at home. But not too often though. (straight to the hips)

My son keeps telling me that he wants a soft pretzel. He wants a big one he says. We don't have these on street corners or from vendors in South Africa. Now I can make him some myself. The fact that there is beer in it I don't think will cause any harm. The beer acts as a yeast. I think these might be quite tasty.

Soft pretzels are absolutely amazing. I've never tried to make them myself, but it doesn't hurt to experiment!

I love pretzels! I am so excited to try this homemade soft pretzel tutorial. This is such a great Oktoberfest snack idea!
