This is such a great idea! Store-bought cough drops can have a lot of weird ingredients, so I like this homemade alternative.

Cinnamon and ginger always works greatly for me when i have a cold. I dont know much about peppermint but can regular mint do the trick as well. Cough drops are good for clear your airways and i find that cinnamon and ginger do that just fine.

Before you take Hesse or give them out to people you need to look up the ingredients. Slippery elm has been known to cause miscarriages so do not use these if you are pregnant or give to anyone who is. And the side effects of essential oils, especially peppermint can be very serious. Please check with your doctor before you just take things without investigating them first. One persons cure can be another's downfall.

I love this easy herbal cough drop recipe! I like the fact you can make these drops up quickly, so you can always have them on hand when you need them. The ingredients are readily available in your local grocery store and you can find slippery elm bark capsules in the vitamin section of your store that would be great for dusting the drops.

I love homemade over store bought any day! This Herbal Home made Cough Drops recipe is tops on my list of things to make and try. With this winter coming on strong these will help greatly! I like that the ingredients are already in my food pantry and no nasty chemicals are added. This is a win win in my book! I had to book mark her page because of all of the other things she has on there. Thank you so much for sharing this DIY recipe/page!

This is a great solution for cold season! I think I should make a bunch and give them out to everyone in the office...begone germs!

Every time I hear someone cough nearby me I want to go buy more cough drops and vitamin C. These homemade cough drops are a great alternative for the winter season! Also, peppermint, cinnamon, and ginger---yum!
