Your next visit to the craft store grab a wire wreath form, ribbon and fabric mesh. This simple pumpkin wreath is covered with ribbon (or fabric remnants) and mesh fabric ties. The additional of fun patterned grosgrain ribbon adds an extra festive touch. Dress up your front door as you enjoy all the spice this pumpkin season has to offer!"

Materials List

  • Wire wreath form
  • Solid ribbon in orange and green
  • Patterned ribbon in orange and green
  • Fabric mesh in orange and green
  • Craft scissors

DIY Project Instructions

  1. Cover the wreath form with solid orange ribbon, leaving approx. 6-8" reserved for solid green ribbon.

  2. Cut approx. 1" strips of the fabric mesh.

  3. Tie the individual mesh strips onto the wreath (orange mesh on orange ribbon; green mesh on green ribbon). Tie/knot on wreath's front.

  4. With the wreath covered in mesh, weave patterned orange ribbon through the orange mesh. Repeat for the green.

  5. Turn wreath over. Cut approx. 6-8" long pieces of ribbon and fold over. Place ribbon in middle of green mesh. Use a strip of green mesh to secure onto wreath form.

This is such a cute idea! I love easy projects like this that can be made in only one evening. If you are not interested in decorating for Halloween, you could change the colors to suit any holiday. I am thinking of going for red and green for Christmas, or red, white and blue would be great too! You could choose different pastels for spring and Easter.

This is such an easy wreath to make! Using a wire form really makes this project go quickly. I am wondering if you could use another type of wreath form like a styrofoam one, but you would probably have to paint it first if you didn't want the white background to show through. A fun wreath and looks so great too! Thanks for sharing such creativity!
