Home Decor Using Grommets

Home Decor Using Grommets

Reviewed by Christine Weiher, Editor,

Using small, simple rings has never been more popular than it is now in the crafting world. Make your very own eye-catching home decor items using grommets made of metal or plastic. Within Home Decor Using Grommets you'll find 16 designs that will transform your home.

With step-by-step instructions and colorful photos you shouldn't have a problem making every one of these projects in this book. From kitchen towels and pot holders to ribbon boxes, floor cushions and throw pillows, you'll find a design that meets your personality. Easy-to-install grommets make these projects fun and functional.

Add warmth and elegance to your home with the Tissue Box Cover on page 25. This unique project puts a personal touch on your home decor. Just by making a tissue box cover with fabric and attaching a grommet to the top you can create a fabulous tissue box that's much nicer than the cardboard store bought ones.

One of my favorites from the book is the Square Pillow. I never thought of using a larger grommet as a finishing touch on a pillow, but Billie Steward (author) has come up with this fabulous idea. Once the pillow is made, you make a sash that's connected with the grommet allowing you to make a super cute throw pillow. Just by looking at the wrong side of fabric you can create a whole new world of creative possibilities. The Faux Roman Shade is also beautiful and I can't wait to make it!

Add some pizzazz to your home and let this book inspire you to come up with some inviting home decor pieces.

Oh my gosh I did not realize that you could make so many things using grommets. I have seen them for window treatments but I am loving the pillow I see pictured and it says you can make kitchen towels and pot holders too. I have got to check this out. Do I just go to the Leisure Arts site? This will be a great way to spice up your home decor and give your rooms a new look.
