The title really says it all! Decorating Letters from Leisure Arts features thirteen letter projects to perfectly personalize your living space. Looking for a unique gift idea? Make it a monogram! Handmade gifts show loved ones you care, and monograms are classy additions to your DIY home decor.

One of my favorite projects in the book is the Burnished Foil M. The technique is what amazed me most. DIYers use hot glue to add texture to the surface of the letter! I don't think I've ever thought to use hot glue for anything other than . . . gluing. The effect is stunning. When you lay the foil over the dried glue on the letter, the shiny material catches the light and really produces a beautiful, textured effect.

Another idea I enjoy is the Marquis Letters! When I attended the Craft and Hobby Association Show in January of 2016, lights as an element of craft and DIY projects were everywhere! Light boxes, lights in floral arrangements, and these marquis letters were so popular. The Marquis Letters look so fun to make. You actually use ping pong balls to achieve the desired effect which is very cool. So what are you waiting for? Get on trend!

One last letter idea I'll mention is the Yarn S. This project features a yarn-wrapped monogram with yarn flowers for embellishment. This is perfect for a craft room if there's a knitter or crocheter in the family! It would also serve as a bright spring or summer accent for your mantel.

Although I've talked about monograms up until this point, Decorating Letters also includes ideas for entire words and quotes. If you're lacking the alphabet in your home decor, don't delay: start decorating some letters!
