You can never have too many storage baskets lying around your home. But I can promise you, you've never seen a storage idea like this one. This Repurposed Fan DIY Storage Basket will not only hold your belongings, but it'll hang from the ceiling! This storage basket won't take up precious counter space like many others do and will look very unique hanging from your ceiling. If you're not a fan (pun intended) of the color fan you're using, take some spray paint and transform it into a metallic color. Happy crafting!

Do you hate to throw out those old fans that do not work and need some storage baskets in a craft room or garage then here is a very inexpensive one. I would paint it and you can even use an odd hanger from a planter. You can do 1,2,3 or whatever amount of baskets you need. Neat idea.

I have not done this yet but so will. I have been looking in stores for hanging wire baskets for my onions and potatoes and garlic. Now that I learned this, I'll be making my own. I see fans in the trash all the time. Looks like I'll be doing some garbage picking. Thank you so much for sharing this free DIY idea.

I was just about to throw out a broken fan when I decided to do a quick online search to see if it could be reused. I'm so glad I found this! I think this basket would work perfectly as a place to store fruit in the kitchen so it doesn't get crushed by other things. Thanks for the idea!

I don't know about this idea. It really looks junky. Maybe it would work in a garage but I don't know about someone's home. It would not work for me since I am short and don't like to do a lot of climbing. I will show it to my significant other and see if that would work for the garage. It could hold some odds and ends.

I wish I had that fan I got rid of a little while ago! This is a great idea and even if you didn't hang them, they could be used for storage containers. It would be fun to paint one an appropriate color and use it as a decorative container for odds and ends or seasonal decorations like pine cones or plastic Easter eggs.

I love this idea. I've got several torn up fans in the garage,(I never throw anything away!) but I'd never thought to make storage baskets with them. This is why I love this site and the sister sites. So many wonderful, fun and easy crafts, and this is definitely one I'll make soon!
