I would never think you could make something out of slate at home. Slate is a very trendy material used in many kitchen makeovers these days, and this cutting board would be at least a touch of newness even if you couldn't do the whole makeover! The heart shape is nice too, but it would look. Ice as a round or oval shape too. Nice, practical and good looking project....thanks for sharing!

This is so unique! I love how this turns a staple kitchen tool into a piece of the room's decor. It would make such a great housewarming gift that you can be sure no one else would think of.
