Upcycled Wallpaper Trash Can Makeover
From the blogger: "Wallpaper is great for transforming a mundane kitchen bin / trash can into something better looking. You can make it blend into your decor or even turn in it into a statement piece. Either way it will be a great improvement on what can normally be a bit of an eyesore in the kitchen, the trash can. This is a really easy project anyone can do. There are also so many fantastic designer wallpapers around. The hardest thing about this revamp is going to be deciding on what wallpaper to use."

DIY Project Instructions
Instructions
-
Measure the height and width of your bin and cut your wallpaper accordingly. You will need to think about how the pattern flows and will probably fit the wallpaper in more than one piece.
-
If you can remove any handles etc from the bin. If not don't worry you can work round these.
-
Key the bin, by pasting with wallpaper paste and leaving to dry.
-
When wallpaper paste is dry, apply another coat of paste. Carefully stick your wallpaper pieces to the bin.
-
Trim off an excesses and round handles.
-
To protect the wallpapered bin apply a coat of either varnish or mod podge to the top of the wallpaper.

Trash cans are always so boring looking and who would ever have thought that they can not only look so good but also fit in with the decor of the room. Such an incredibly simple idea that makes a huge difference and because no particular skills are needed it is an easy change to make too.

I agree with ashleroo that this one will be a fun idea to try. I can see making these and personalizing them for my college age pals. My kids would love to make one for their bedroom. You can customize your garden and see how the trash can will fall into the design instead of sticking out.

This is pretty cute! It's a nice way to add a personalized touch to your room and make it different from everyone else's house. I think that you could achieve a similar result using mactac, shelf liner, or adhesive vinyl. The possibilities are really endless. This would be a fun one to try!
