If you are planning a home make over or just a bit of a room update I think this is a fantastic idea. Not only will it be a money saver but it will be also a recycling project. And best of all this will be a no sewing project. All you need is your rope and a glue gun. Great!!!! On old lampshade can be brought to life again and can stand tall in a rustic, nautical or even cottage style room make over. The rope will give texture and the element of surprise to a room. One can also do a bit of rope work on a bottle or two giving the room a bit of balance on this technique used.

What a great idea! I have done this technique before on bottles and jars, but I never thought about doing it on a lampshade. It couldn't be any easier either. It's all done with a hot glue gun! I would like to try covering a cheap old lampshade from the second had store with this technique. It certainly would be a lovely way to upcycle. I think that this would be lovely in a beach themed room or maybe at the cottage. Very cute.

What a neat idea and perfect for that beach house or even beach themed room. Wow cannot believe how easy and fast it is once you air out the sisal rope. I like the way it gives a textured look to this lamp shade. You can always find inexpensive lamp shades at thrift shops or yard sales or sometimes clearance department. Great idea.Is there any other rope to give it that look that you do not have to air out?

I love this idea, it will go perfectly with my rustic themed home. Thanks!
