How to make a trendy floor pouf from a cable spool

"I made this gorgeous velvet floor pouf from a small cable spool. The fabric I used was a Harlequin ombre velvet which was a remnant from when I had some curtains made. The pouf is on casters so is easy to move around. I also used a firm upholstery foam which means that the pouf can be used as a handy side table as well as extra seating. I really like the trend for metallics in home interiors so that is why I added a gold iron-on vinyl strip to the bottom of the pouf."
