Turn pretty wine bottles, mason jars, or other glass containers into a work of art with gold, copper, or silver leaf. This 30-minute project will give your holiday decor a boost, or just add a little sparkle to your space. Materials List

  • Glass item - wine bottle, mason jar, baby food jar, etc.
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Gold leaf flakes
  • Adhesive
  • Small paint brush
  • Chip brush
  • Hair dryer
  • Shallow cardboard box


  1. Clean glass bottle and remove any sticker residue.

  2. Apply adhesive using a craft painting brush.

  3. Allow adhesive to fully dry (tips in blog post).

  4. Apply gold leaf flakes with clean fingers, smooth over glass.

  5. Use a chip brush to fully adhere the flakes and dust off extra bits.

  6. Clean up extra flakes carefully (see blog post for tips).
