From the blogger: "With this DIY project you can turn something rather plain into a really interesting statement piece with just one small subtle change. In this case by adding a map. I made this with an IKEA lampshade as it comes flat pack making this DIY really easy but you can use any flat pack lampshade kit. You can use maps of your favorite holiday destinations or places that are important to you. Whatever you do it will definitely make your ceiling lamps more interesting when you look up."

I love this DIY IKEA Map Lamp Hack idea! I get a lot of maps from all over the world in the mail that I requested from the visitor center on line. This is a great way to use some of them up. My Grandson will like this type of lamp for his bedroom. Such a easy project and a great way to dress up a old lamp too. Has anyone used the Mod Podge to make this? I was thinking of buying that, I would use basic school glue. I just wonder if that would work? What do you think? Thanks for sharing this DIY idea.

This is such a cool project! It would be a great housewarming gift idea, especially with a map of the city they just moved to!

This is so cool! I love maps. I'm going to have to give this a try!!
