DIY Room Decor

Get more out of your decor! Once you have your wall decorations planned, it’s time to focus on the rest of the room. One of the worst parts of dorm life is the utter lack of mirrors. Thankfully, you can make a project that combines a full length mirror and some extra shelving that you can simply lean up against a wall. It’s perfect for dorm room living. You’re going to want some comfortable seating for when friends come to chat or simply for doing homework, and these giant floor pillows are just the thing! Also, don’t forget that succulents are perfect for bringing a little life into a dorm room, and an adorable hanging planter is the perfect place to keep one! With these college bedroom ideas, you’ll be ready to move when fall rolls around.

DIY Organization

Awesome organizing ideas! Fitting everything you need for eight months into one room (or really half a room) is quite the task. Organization is incredibly important to have a successful college experience. These DIY organization projects will help you have a place for everything and keep your dorm livable. If you’re not a fan of lofting your bed (and we don’t blame you) but still want some extra space to store tubs under your bed, make some bed risers to give you some DIY storage room. Mason jars are all the rage, so put together a mason jar organizer to help you keep all the little things in their place. Don’t forget the importance of keeping your room smelling fresh either! Try a homemade air freshener or deodorizer to keep your tiny home free of stink.

//rolls into the comments section again I think I truly forgot just how tiny dorm rooms were. This page will be a great help in transforming that mini space into something livable for the year. I have made a few of the projects above and love how they turned out. I see myself using them in my future apartment and home!

AH! All of these ideas are so amazing. I'm saving this for my sister who will be headed off to the dorm life next year. Anywhoozles, my fave organization in college was always those rolling storage bins. They fit comfortably under a slightly raised bed (or in the closet). Out of sight and out of mind! It also helped to cut down a lot of the clutter. Those were the days.
