From the Blogger: "DIY Barn Doors are all the craze these days and boy do I LOVE them!! I have ideas for barn doors all over my house!!! I started by making a 4′ x 1.5′ barn door for my family room wall with super high ceilings! The entire cost for the wood was only $6.40 and only took 30 minutes to make! Have the hardware store help cut your wood! This is a Beginner project, no experience needed!"

Materials List

  • Furring strips at 4 feet long
  • 1" Brad nailer
  • Air compressor
  • Nail Gun
  • Stain of choice

Instructions:

  1. Cut wood to size - depending on the size you would like to make the door.

  2. Lay boards vertically next to each other.

  3. Lay one board horizontally 6-8' from the top and one 6-8" from the bottom.

  4. Nail horizontal boards to the vertical boards.

  5. Lay one board on the angle and mark off cut marks.

  6. Cut angled board and nail in place.
