Instead of giving or throwing away an old bookshelf, use it for DIY room decor projects. This DIY Craft Table is easy and inexpensive to make. All you need is a table top and one bookshelf. Simply use a drill and screws to attach your table top onto a half-sized bookcase, and you instantly have an extra surface and plenty of additional storage for your craft supplies. You can also use two bookshelves to create a DIY kitchen island to help organize your kitchen equipment.

I love how easy it is to fit so many things into a small idea like this because you can use any size item you want to fit the craft supplies. A few totes or baskets is all you need to organize all your things and keep them out of the way.

My daughter made a similar project and she lined the back of the shelves with pretty wallpaper! Looked great. I could see adding some rounded wheels on the bottom that lock into position so you can wheel it from room to room if needed. Another option would be to,put some print tension curtain rods and some fabric curtains if you did not want the shelving contents to be seen, especially if you are a rather messy crafter like myself! Of course, messy = more creative, right? )

This is a good way to use an old bookcase. I have one I can sacrifice, and I definitely can use a craft table. I have lots of craft supplies that I need to organize. This would even be a cute way to store my bookcase of cookbooks. If I put a table top on it and moved it into my kitchen, it would look amazing!

What a handy and neat idea, I robbed one of the spare bedrooms as my hobby room but it's a mess, it's not even organised chaos it's just simply a mess! I didn't know where to begin to sort it out but this project looks like it could solve all my problems with this room. I love this idea.

I just love simple ideas that WORK! Well done, Auna Kay not only does this look good but its a really clever way of having everything I need right where I am working. Ive decided that a stand up table is what I need in my studio and this is going to be just perfect for that. My man has had a look at the design and says it will not be at all difficult to add legs which will make it higher and suitable for standing so I am really looking forward to my new work station!

This is a really great way to make use of an old bookshelf. So many times I see people getting rid of bookshelves for free on local sites online, or even putting them out to the curb for the trash. In addition to painting your new craft table, you could add fabric or contact paper to the shelves or the inside back to add to your craft decor!
