I love this idea for a less chemical stain! I have some wooden shelves I made that could use a stain. I always just opt out of stain because the chemicals used. This makes a great alternative. Has anyone done the strained vs. not strained with the steel wool? Is there a difference in these? Thanks for any input!

This is so cool! I had no idea you could do this. I think I'll try this on my old side table.

No way, I am shocked at the results here!!! I can't believe vinegar can do that, it seems so easy I think I will give this ago. I have one question though about this and if anyone has tried this maybe you might know.... I'm not a massive fan of the vinegar smell I even avoid it on my Friday night fish and chips, does the vinegar smell go away or how would you get rid of it?

I used this on a crate I bought and it worked beautifully. I love that it's cheap and natural. Now it looks like I've had the crate for years and years.
