What a fun idea! For years, I had saved the little bit of trunk that they saw off the bottom of the pine tree for Christmas, often asking them to make them smaller trims. Coasters are a great idea for these little wood trunk pieces, and you could also make ornaments from them as well. Taking it further, anything could be painted in them... An initial, a greeting, a heart... To make it an anytime project beyond the holidays! Thanks for sharing a great project idea!
