I recently fell in love with canvas and leather bags and I swore I would make myself one of them. I didn't have much experience sewing with canvas so these tips have saved my craft. There's so many helpful tips in here guys!

These are excellent suggestions! I have never thought to manually adjust the tension on my machine, though if do have settings for thicker fabrics. I did know about using larger needles, and many times I have manually turned the wheel to get over some really thick areas, like attaching straps or where a trim band may add to thickness. I always thought I was cheating, but it got the job done, especially when you have a home sewing machine and not a heavy duty one that may handle leathers or canvas fabrics routinely. Thanks for these great tips! So practical!
