Materials List

  • Mason jar mugs (ones with sides that have no emboss with work best)
  • Kraft paper (a roll from the dollar store works great!)
  • Daisy mason jar lids
  • Paper straws (pick ones that match your wedding or party)
  • Expressionery Mason Jar Stamp (customize for your event)
  • Markers
  • Dry adhesive runner

Instructions

DIY Project Instructions

  1. Trim the kraft paper into strips.  Make sure the strips will fit through the handle of the mason jar mug you are using. They should also be long enough to overlap slightly.

  2. Use the stamp to customize the strip on one side.

  3. Wrap around the mason jar mug and secure with the dry adhesive.  I like the overlap to be under the handle so you can’t see it.

  4. Add on the lid and paper straw.

  5. Set out these mugs and let your guests drop their name on them with a marker.

I love making labels for everything, since I make so many homemade things and store in mason jars, so I've always loved the customizable label idea. I like to label my jars using card stock and sharpies whenever I'm just storing, though, otherwise I will usually use clear tape and write on that so I can refrigerate/freeze stuff, or have my favorite homemade shampoo on hand in the shower.

I can't wait to make these drink labels for my next summer cook-out! I know when my guests get traveling around my backyard, they inevitably set their drink down to play horseshoes or washers and then the cups get mixed up. This would be a great way to avoid the confusion. I think that it would be cute to have a stamp with a fun design on one side and then the names on the other. This will make lemonade and ice tea look so cute!
