I often keep fabric charm packs as a sewing box staple, because I love sewing napkins and washcloths up whenever I get the time, or while listening to music or watching a movie. Any fabric that can easily be used as a napkin is perfect for making handmade napkins, and the possibilities for adding embellishments are endless. My favorite things to add for a little bit of extra fancy flare are ribbons threaded through the edges of the sewn up napkins.

This is a great project for beginners - and a super one for kids to do with mom or grandma! Imagine how proud your little ones would be to set the table with their own creations and handiwork! A neat added embellishment could be sewing in their initials, or the one initial for the last name, or a little symbol - a tree, star, acorn, simple flower, using a simple stitch, or cutting it from other fabric to sew on! Great idea!
