I don't have any kids yet but when I babysit my sister's, I hate it when I find him eating the watercolours or crayons. This is very thoughtful and very easily done at home. You can share this with Al the moms your kid regularly goes for playdates to so they can make some for all the kids. Beets and turmeric can stain so make sure the paint doesn't dry up before you clean it out.

Are these DIY paints safe for kids? I'd love to make for my daughter.

This is a nice way to let your little one get creative without fear of toxic chemicals. A few of these ingredients will stain, so make sure to protect your surfaces and clothes. I have to wonder though, would the painted pictures get moldy over time if your home is humid?

I teach little ones and am always on the hunt for cute crafting ideas. I never thought of creating my own natural finger paints. My kids would love this! I think it's fantastic that even if a child put this in their mouth, they wouldn't get sick. These are way better for kids to use rather than commercially manufactured finger paints. I can't wait to try this tutorial out. It's going on my pin board immediately!

. Theres a great idea. We all know that, with babies, everything goes in the mouth. Commercial finger paints are branded non toxic but all that this term means is the product wont cause immediate health issues. Commercial finger paints can be petroleum based so long term use CAN cause health problems. But with this recipe, your biggest concern will be cleaning up the mess afterwards.

I wish I knew this when my kids were growing up or my grand kids were younger. This paint is a must have for small children. All kids like to put everything in their mouths so why not make sure it is safe just incase. This paint tutorial on homemade paint from spices and food is a great one.So simple and easy . Make some extras for your mom friends while making your and I am sure they will appreciate it. Did anyone else know about this?
