These would be really nice as table decorations for weddings and parties. If you are worried about the glitter coming off and getting everywhere, you could apply a clear coat to it to protect it. For a childs room, you could use small led candles instead of regular candles. It would make a nice night light and it would be safe too.

These are beautiful! I won't be able to stop at making just one. I have several jars, and many lovely colors of glitter. I think I'll make one in purple, one in pink, one in blue.....

Do you have a little girl who loves fairies? What a great idea these mason jar luminaries are. They do look like a fairy will pop out at any time so why not have a birthday themed fairy party. Make some of these luminaries and put all over the yard or house and put the guests names on them so they can take with them. Call the glitter fairy dust. These are so easy and very inexpensive to make. I think I would use a flameless candle though so I would not have to worry with the burlap catching fire. Love this tutorial.

These would be so fun for a kid's fairytale-themed bday party or even a wedding shower. I bet they'd look lovely placed in a backyard patio during a summer evening.
