Great idea. The tube gives some stiffness and form to the case. Alternatively you could use some fabric that is reinforced with stiffer interfacing as some of it can be very good in providing shape and structure to your project. You could also add a little tab loop,of fabric to the corner to help with pulling it out of the purse or to add a key ring or Mimi light. Great project idea!
