"Turning old brooches into beautiful magnets is so simple. It can be done in just two simple steps with only a couple of inexpensive supplies. I took a few old brooches that had been sitting in a drawer and made lovely magnets out of them in just about ten minutes. I love the little bit of glamour and sparkle that these add to my refrigerator.  Everyone has magnets on their refrigerator.  Why not make them beautiful?"

Materials List

  • Brooches
  • Pliers
  • Ceramic .5" magnets
  • E6000 glue

Instructions

  1. Carefully pull the clasps off of the back of the brooches with pliers.

  2. Put a dot of E6000 glue on one of the ceramic magnets, and press it onto the back of a brooch.

  3. Let the brooch sit upside down over night for the glue to set.

  4. Hang the magnets on your fridge. :)

NotesBe sure to go slowly and gently when pulling the clasps off of the back, so that you don't pull pieces off of the brooch itself. As you can see, I did this myself, but fortunately, was able to repair the brooch with the glue.
