Tarahlynn, Grandma's House DIY

My husband and I finished the fifteen month renovation of my grandparents' 100 year old farm house in August of 2015. We did all of the work ourselves from the plumbing and the electrical to all new siding and windows. After that we figured we could survive anything together, so we got married in the back yard. Of course when I say we're "finished" with the renovation I don't really mean that, there is always something to do around here! I picked up furniture refinishing in the spring of 2013 and only stopped during the renovation, now I'm picking it right up again. I did enjoy renovating our home but I am SO glad to get back to furniture!

When we first started the renovation and even as far back as when I started refinishing furniture a lot of folks didn't seem to understand why we would want to go to so much work when we could either buy it new or hire it out to someone else. Well, that's just not how we roll around here, worst case scenario for me is having to hire someone or buy something brand new from a department store!
