DIY Cosmetics

Although there is no wrong way to apply makeup, there are several hot makeup trends that everyone seems to be doing. Making your face slimmer and jaw chiseled is a popular one in particular. Another is having skyscraper eyelashes. And of course, there's always DIY cosmetics.

With how expensive in-store brands can be at locations like Ulta or Sephora, it's no wonder that making DIY cosmetics is so popular right now! These tips will help you get into the DIY makeup trend, as well as teach you some hacks for how to apply it.

Thanks to beauty gurus, such as Maggie, we can all learn how to master our contouring skills with these amazing DIY makeup products. DIY bronzer and organic face powder are also key when contouring.

Rather than spending money on a full set of lash extensions for $150, you can learn the tips and tricks on how to get longer eyelashes naturally. With a little help from mascara and an eyelash curler, your lashes will be reaching for the sky in no time.

And lastly, we can't put on our makeup without brushes. Makeup brush sets can be very expensive, so it's important to give them the proper care they need to last a long time. From cleaning to DIY storage space to making your own brushes, this collection has it all.

You'll be sure to find your new favorite trick in these 37 Gorgeous Makeup Hacks.

How to Contour

Natural DIY Contour Powder

Contouring is key if you want a more defined facial structure. If you place each makeup product in the correct place on your face, your face will look more slender.

Essentially, anywhere you darken will recede on your face and anywhere you lighten will pop forward. With that in mind, you can make your nose thinner, your forehead less broad, your jawline more defined, and so on!

For concealer, you want to try and go a couple shades lighter than your natural skin tone or foundation. When it comes to bronzing up the face, grab your DIY bronzer and brush this into the hollows of your cheekbones. To set your whole face, swipe a couple layers of your natural face powder. Now say hello to your new cheekbones, completed entirely with DIY cosmetics! And make sure to check out the Natural DIY Contour Powder from the picture on the left.

Some great DIY products here. I like the idea of knowing exactly what's going on my skin. Store-bought makeup has so many chemicals in it.

Great ideas! I've been thinking about using natural makeup products for a while now to help improve my skin. I think I'll start with the DIY foundation and go from there!
