These cute soaps are amazing. I just put it on every corner of my house. It is effective, too. Just be careful not to let your children eat these soap. Its shapes are deceiving.

If you wash off the soap, would it still leave the smell of the citronella?

I have never made soap before. After seeing this project, I am thinking I will give it a try! Homemade insect repellent would be amazing, especially for my kids to use when they go camping or are playing outside during the summer months. I will have to do some more research on soap making before mattempt this, but it does look really easy to do.

I usually make homemade insect repellent spray that will also cool me off just for the summer, or make the mixture and soak baby wipes in the spray and wipe myself down as needed. But I love making the insect repellent soaps for those times I know I will be outside way too often, or will be camping or hiking. They work like a charm, and I like to add some aloe vera gel so the soaps almost work like mini sunscreens as well!

These look so adorable. Prevention always turns out better than relieving insect bites. I have tried using balms but i still get stung and i dont like the fragrance used to make them.
