Save money from buying butter and oil by trying this nutritional and flavorful Make Your Own Beef Tallow recipe. All you need is high quality grass-fed beef bought from a local farmer or butcher. Similar to lard, tallow is a cheaper and more organic alternative to butter and oil, and is excellent for frying food. Tallow can even be used to make soap or candles. The fat cooking and preparing process is simple, but does take time and is quite messy. Store your finished tallow at room temperature, in the fridge, or the freezer for a longer storage period.
