For anybody who hasn't tried this, I'd point out that oil filters have a little seal on them. When you screw in the new filter, I was always taught to rub a little bit of fresh oil around the seal on the filter to prevent it from getting stuck. Just a tiny dab. Like everyone else said, it's SUPER EASY.

When I first started doing my own oil changes, it was because I was tired of getting ripped off my old mechanic (he was taking complete advantage of my lack of knowledge about cars.) I decided to research tutorials like this and gave it a go. I was shocked how easy it is to do your own oil change! Now, I just do them on my car whenever it needs it. Once you know what you're doing, it really only takes a like 20 minutes from start to finish. It also gave me a lot more confidence in my understanding of cars. Give it a go! It's really not too difficult.

I have yet to take my car to a mechanic to get my oil changed. It's so easy to do it myself! I highly recommend everyone to try it. It made me feel like a real car owner and gave me a better understanding of its mechanics. :)
